Romeo knew little about computers before he came to YARID. His friend was in a previous ICT training cohort and took Romeo to YARID where he introduced him to YARID Digital Competency Trainer Suzy. For the next several weeks Romeo learned how to type, use Microsoft Office, search the Internet, and use various smartphone apps. Since graduating from the program his community considers him an expert in computers. He now teaches others the skills he learned. Friends ask him for help and he has the computer literacy to support his community with technology. He even recruited more of his friends to join YARID's next ICT cohort. Romeo shared, "Many people live on technology. We have to learn how to use it. I am so happy with YARID. They give youth a purpose."
