Research & Advocacy
Tushirikiane is a mental health literacy and promotion project for urban refugee youth in Kampala. Our research with urban refugee youth found that 74% of young girls and 49% of young boys aged 16-24 reported depression symptoms. Partnering with the University of Toronto, we aim to reduce stigma and create scalable literacy & digital tools (i.e. virtual reality, SMS, & WhatsApp) to address mental health stressors.
